Canon rolls out 33 new products at Smile Expo 2009 in Philippines
Up to 33 new imaging and printing products were shown in Canon Philippines' ImageNation Smile Expo 09 tour.
SHOWCASE: Our team in Philippines reported that Canon Philippines held its annual ImageNation celebration with a theme called Smile Expo ‘09 at A. Venue, Makati City, Philippines yesterday. The expo saw 33 new products from Canon’s line of digital cameras, digital camcorders, printers and copiers.
Among the items shown were the PowerShot A480, SX200 IS, D10, A2100 IS, A1100 IS cameras; IXUS 110 IS, IXUS 100 and IXUS 95 IS; SELPHY CP780 Compact Photo Printer; PhotoDV camcorders DC410 and DC420; VIXIA camcorders FS21, FS22 and FS200; PIXMA printers MX328, MX338, MX868, PIXMA Pro 9000 Mark II and Pro 9500 Mark II.
What’s unusual about Canon’s ImageNation Smile Tour is that besides the launch, the tour visits various SM malls nationwide, beginning with SM Mall of Asia (12-25 March 2009), then SM Cebu (23 March - 5 April), SM Pampanga (26 March - 8 April), SM Davao (9-22 April), SM Megamall (23 April-6 May) and SM North EDSA (14-27 May).

- The Canon PowerShot A480 has a 1/2.3-inch 10-megapixel sensor, shoots 3.3x optical zoom and comes with a 2.5-inch LCD screen.
- The PowerShot A1100 IS is available in silver, blue, pink and green, and comes in a 12.1-megapixel sensor with up to 4x optical zoom.
- The Canon PowerShot A2100 IS has 6x optical zoom and similar to the A1100 IS, sports a 12.1-megapixel sensor.
- The PowerShot SX200 IS series come with a 12.1-megapixel sensor, 12x optical zoom, 28mm Wide-Angle lens and of course, DIGIC 4 imaging processor.
- The Canon IXUS 95 series is Canon's 10.0-megapixel-based digital cameras in six colors of either gray, silver, orange, red, blue and green. Optical zoom can go up to 3x (35-100mm).
- The PIXMA MX868 is a print, scan, copy, fax, networkable, wireless and card direct printer with a 9600 x 2400 dpi max resolution. It's supposed to be able to print a 4 x 6" borderless photo in about 41 seconds. Its rated copier speeds are 6.8ipm mono and 3.0ipm color.
- Canon's SELPHY CP780 comes in pink and blue, with features like red-eye correction, advanced portrait image optimizer and a 2.5-inch color LCD monitor. It's Bluetooth wireless printing ready (with optional adapter) and portable (with optional battery pack).
