GPS-maker Navigon exits US market
CORP TALK: ConsumerReports.org released news recently that portable GPS navigation device maker for cars, Navigon, will stop the sale of its units in the United States but retain its European business. Though it will continue to honor warranties and support subscribers to its traffic services, Navigon cites intense competition from lower priced devices as one of the reasons for the pullout.
While Navigon is reported to be new in the US market, it positioned itself as a premium mid- to high-end priced product, with features like free traffic info, 3-dimensional mapping and reality view.
