Among the South-East Asian countries, Singapore has been chosen by Nokia as one of the 9 countries at launch to have a dedicated Ovi Store.

CORP TALK: Nokia has made available its Ovi Store to an estimated 50 million Nokia device owners worldwide. This includes those who would eventually own the Finnish company’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the Nokia N97. 

Customers can visit store.ovi.com via their Nokia device browser to download, personalize and make their devices smarter and more fun with apps, games, videos, podcasts, productivity tools, Web and location-based services. In some countries, customers can update their Nokia devices with the Ovi Store mobile app by selecting the Ovi store icon in the Download! folder.

The mobile client is available in English, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish, and supports operator billing in Australia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Russia, Singapore and the United Kingdom. Nokia has plans to add countries, languages, devices and features within the year.

“Singapore is one of the 9 countries globally to have a dedicated Ovi Store,” said Vlasta Berka, General Manager, Nokia Singapore/Malaysia and Brunei, “From today, consumers in Singapore already have access to some very interesting local content and applications through Ovi Store.” Content providers and app developers can sign up to distribute their content through Ovi Store by visiting this site.
