Nikon releases digicam that projects images
SHOWCASE: Nikon has announced a series of new COOLPIX digital cameras with one — the S1000pj — equipped with a built-in projector. The projector, located in the front of the camera, is able to project images or movie clips on a flat surface up to 40 inches in size.
The camera has a 12.1 Megapixel image sensor resolution, 2.7″ LCD screen and 5 times optical zoom lens with 28mm wide-angle coverage. It is available in silver or black.
Other cameras announced alongside the COOLPIX S1000pj include the COOLPIX S70 which is also a 12.1 Megapixel camera but with a 3.5″ Clear Color OLED display and beautiful design.
The COOLPIX S640, on the other hand has a fast start-up time of 0.7 seconds while the COOLPIX S570 boasts 4 advance image stabilization features and similarly to the rest, Nikon’s Quick Retouch and Auto Sort function.
- Available in Silver and Black, the COOLPIX S1000pj is the first digital compact camera with a built-in projector.
- With 12.1 Megapixels and a 2.7" LCD screen, the S1000pj can project images up to 40".
- The COOLPIX S70 also has a 12.1 Megapixel image sensor but with a 3.5" Clear OLED Color Display.
- The COOLPIX S70's Clear OLED display allows users to navigate with their fingertips and zoom in/out of images via its Touch Panel, while Touch Shutter lets users snap photos with a fingertip press.
- The COOLPIX S570 comes in silver, black, red and pink. It features a Smile Timer and Blink Proof function which shoots two sequential images and pick the one where subject's eyes are wide open.
- The COOLPIX S640 has a fast start-up time of 0.7 seconds and short shutter-release time lag.
